Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Location: On-site in Buena Park.

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our network systems. Proficiency in Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is required for this position.

Responsibilities:

1. Network Design and Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable network architectures to meet the organization's current and future needs. Evaluate existing network systems and propose enhancements for improved performance and efficiency.
2. Routing and Switching: Configure and manage routers, switches, and other network devices. Implement routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP. Optimize network traffic flow and ensure seamless communication between different network segments.
3. Network Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to safeguard the organization's network infrastructure from internal and external threats. Configure firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
4. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues proactively. Utilize network monitoring tools to identify bottlenecks, anomalies, and potential security breaches. Respond to network incidents promptly and implement effective resolutions.
5. Quality of Service (QoS) and Traffic Engineering: Implement QoS policies to prioritize critical network traffic and ensure optimal performance for real-time applications. Design and implement traffic engineering solutions to optimize bandwidth utilization and minimize latency.
6. Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical network solutions. Maintain comprehensive network documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
7. Capacity Planning and Scalability: Conduct capacity planning exercises to anticipate future network growth and ensure scalability. Identify potential scalability bottlenecks and propose solutions to accommodate increased network traffic and user demands.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
3. Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required.
4. In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, VLANs, MPLS, and DNS.
5. Hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
6. Proficiency in network security principles and best practices.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Additional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
3. Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) technologies.
4. Familiarity with cloud networking platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
5. Experience with network automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible).
